That’s according to many of the current and former Derby City Hall employees and officials who are mourning the sudden loss of their dear friend and colleague. Finn, 60, passed away unexpectedly Sunday at her Ansonia home. The Spinelli-Riccuiti/Bednar-Osiecki Funeral Home in Ansonia is handling Finn’s arrangements . Tragically, Finn’s death comes exactly one week after her sister, Katherine Finn, passed away at Connecticut Hospice in Branford Dec. 20. Continue reading ‘Derby City Hall Mourns The Loss Of Patty Finn’ Update: Derby Police Issue Statement On Monday Night’s Chaos by Eugene Driscoll and Jean Falbo-Sosnovich | Dec 29, 2020 10:04 am DERBY — UPDATE : The Derby Police Department issued the following statement Tuesday morning regarding last night’s crimes. Three people “were indentified pending charges,” according to Derby Police Lt. Justin Stanko, while one person remains at large. “On MON DEC 28 at approximately 4:40pm, the Derby Police Department responded to the area of Hawkins Street near Seventh Street on reports of multiple gun shots. Witnesses and video surveillance depicted a white Kia SUV fleeing the scene. Earlier that morning, Derby Police identified a 2011 white Kia SUV that was reported stolen from Shelton. At that time, the Kia was parked alongside a second vehicle. When police arrived to investigate (in the morning), both the Kia and second vehicle fled the area. A short pursuit ensued with the second vehicle, which was terminated. While detectives were on scene processing the shooting, the same stolen white Kia SUV came back to the area. Derby Police attempted to stop the Kia after which a pursuit ensued onto Route 8 north. The pursuit ended after the Kia crashed on the Route 8 exit 22 off-ramp. Three males immediately fled the crash on foot while one passenger remained inside asking for help as the vehicle’s engine had caught fire. A Derby Police officer removed the suspect from the passenger seat. He was identified as a 17 year-old juvenile from Derby.
